Beginning of a "ballet opera" tradition in Sri Lanka - Mrs. Thanuja Priyanthi Bandula

It is evident that the various sectors in Sri Lanka are rapidly adapting to large-scale projects in a timely manner. Buildings are being built from the huts of the past to the mansions of today. The footprints of the past have reached the highways of the world today. From the notion that the world is a flat object to space centers. In comparison, we are left with the question of whether the art of music in Sri Lanka has made formal progress. It is no secret that Dr. Premasiri Khemadasa Shureen is one of the few people who has found a solution to this problem. Today's our post about another character who is committed to the formal development of music.

Even though about a thousand musical creations are created in Sri Lanka every day, after a long period of training, the art takes the place of first and mere entertainment second and work with a deep sense of creativity with less than a handful of fingers. That is why the performance of Thanuja Priyanthi Bandula for the sake of art is of utmost importance to us music lovers.

As far as we know, she has been researching students for over a year for one of her creative endeavors. That is what is needed today. Because many young people strive to capture the world overnight. It takes a considerable amount of time for a great creation to mature. It takes a lot of patience on the part of the designers as well as the designers. It usually takes at least 7 years of formal training to become an opera singer. Against such a backdrop it is extremely rare to find serious musical use on this media show stage. We are of the opinion that it is not possible to wipe our hands of adapting to the current trend. Therefore, we should not miss the artistic practices of ladies like Thanuja Priyanthi who are engaged in honest creative practice.

She was a Professor of Oriental Music at Sirimavo Bandaranaike College, Colombo and was undoubtedly a very active and exemplary teacher at that time. She is the instructor of the soundtrack sung by the students of Sirimavo Bandaranaike College in the song "Wesi Wasina Ahasa Api" sung by Amaradeva Shurin. After retiring from school, she now runs a ballet academy called Ranara Academy. Mrs. Thanuja deserves our respect for her creations.

When an opera is performed continuously following a ballet dance style, it is usually called a ballet opera.
