MUSIC IN CINEMA
MUSIC IN CINEMA
The subject of sound design is an amateur scope for Sri Lankan cinema and scholars in that field. As a result of this apprenticeship, I feel that many of the greatest films in the history of Sri Lankan cinema have not received the proper creative contribution to the soundtrack. This is not due to lack of technical facilities or technology. That is, I strongly believe that the subject matter of the film is proportional to the image, not the focus on the sound.
The practical meaning of the word sound design is the art of creating soundtracks for a variety of audio, visual design needs. It involves identifying, recording, and manipulating audio sources using audio production techniques and tools. The practical meaning here, however, is that theoretical, philosophical and creative events go beyond that. There are two extremes in the field of phonetic engineering. The prevailing field of study is the field of sound engineering. Sound design is a foreign field to the subject of sound. Creative expression in the subject of cinema requires both of these verbal subject extremes.
In what way does music contribute to a film? David Ruxin (2012) argues that music contributes to "helping to understand the meaning of a film" when considering the purpose of the music in a film. Aaron Copeland (1960) argues that a composer can do no more than "empower the theatrical and emotional value of film through music." There are different ways to achieve time and place or spatially as a color, musically. In the broadest sense, musical colors can be used to represent foreign, intrinsic, or sensory, sensory aspects as opposed to the musical structure or line considered in an intellectual subject. Film music is colorful in terms of its purpose and impact.
